How To Set Up A Minecraft Server On Windows 10 Step 5: Playing on your server. After you have done all the adjustments, you can now play Minecraft with your friends. There are three ways to play Minecraft. 1. Locally (Same pc) - If you are just looking to play alone. 2. Internally (Lan), This is for you and all your friends to use the same WIFI. 3. Externally (Outside Lin) - This is a place for your friends from all over the world to connect. Option 1. Locally: We'll start with option 1. To connect, open Minecraft and press Multiplayer. Next, click on "Add Server". You can change the server name to suit your needs. You have two options for the server address: "0" and "LocalHost". This will connect you with your server, and you can then play. Option 2. Internally(Lan): So you have some friends over you want to play with. Your ipv4 address is required to allow your friends to connect. I personally recommend going to https://www.whatismyip.com/what-is-my-public-ip-address/ and getting it. You can also open cmd and type in "ipconfig" to get it. This will also show you all of your other IP configurations. Once you have this, share it with your friends and ask them to enter it in the server address field. Option 3. Option 3. To do this you will need your IPv4 as well, but there are a few extra steps. You will need to port forward your router to allow others to connect via your port. The default Minecraft port number is 25565. There are many videos on Youtube to help you port forward. Every provider is unique. So look up how to port forward for "your provider". Once this is done, just send your IPv4 to your friends. The End.
